竹内　綱

竹内　綱(たけうち　つな)　天保10年～大正11年(1839-1922)

竹内綱は土佐藩宿毛領主の重臣で、維新後は後藤象二郎を助け、主に実業家として経営に手腕をふるい、その一方で板垣退助とともに自由党を組織し、重鎮として活動しました。
戦後復興の父といわれる元首相吉田茂は、宿毛出身の竹内綱の五男として東京で生まれ、そして吉田家の養子となった経歴をもっています。

Tsuna Takeuchi was a Chief to the Sukumo Feudal Lord of the Tosa Domain.After the Meiji Restoration he supported Shojiro Goto who was well known in the Tosa Domain and together,they managed many successful companies.
Not only was he a businessman,Takeuchi,organised the foundation of the Liberal Party with Taisuke Itagaki.
Takeuchi's fifth son, Shigeru Yoshida was adopted to the Yoshida Family and in 1946 became the 45th Prime Minister of Japan.
