小野　義真

小野　義真(おの　ぎしん)　天保10年～明治38年(1839-1905)

小野義真は青年時代に緒方洪庵の適塾で蘭学を学び、維新後は大蔵省や工部省に勤務しましたが、ほどなく官職を辞し、岩崎弥太郎の三菱会社に顧問として招かれました。
その後、日本鉄道会社を創設して現在の東北本線のもととなる東京、青森間の鉄道を完成させ、この間、鉄道が盛岡まで開通したときには、その記念に小岩井農場をつくり、日本の畜産業の改善と奨励に力を尽くしました。

Gishin Ono learned Dutch studies at Koan Ogata's private school.
After the Meiji Restoration he worked at the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Engineering,but soon resigned from the government position and became a top advisor to Yataro Iwasaki's Mitsubishi company.
Following that he established a Japanese railway company and completed the railroad between Tokyo and Aomori.
This railway is the basis of the present main Tohoku line.
At the end of the line in Morioka,Ono built a memorial site called Koiwai Farm and contributed his efforts to the improvement of farming in Japan.Koiwai Farm is still popular today.
