竹内　明太郎

竹内　明太郎(たけうち　めいたろう)　万延元年10年～昭和3年(1860-1928)

竹内綱の長男であり、吉田茂の実兄である竹内明太郎は、工業化こそが近代日本の発展に必要と考え、炭鉱事業をはじめ、それに関連した小松製作所（現コマツ）などの経営にあたりました。
一方、早稲田大学理工学部設立の時には多額の寄付をし、私費で育成した研究者すべてを教授として送りこみました。
また地元高知には、父綱とともに高知県工業高校（現県立高知工業高校）を設立しました。

Meitaro Talceuchi was the eldest son of Tsuna Takeuchi and brother of Shigeru Yoshida.
He was an industrialist and was involved in the coal mining bnsiness which later lead him to start the Komatsu Corporation.
He made a substantial donation to the newly established Department of Science and Engineering, at Waseda University, and sent all the company's researches there so become professors.
He later established the Kochi Technical High Schoo with his father with a focus on educating young people.
